Helena Samaha is a multi-cultural, multi-lingual lawyer with substantial international experience.
She has worked across several legal practice areas to include Finance in the early stage of her career at Clifford Chance in London. In 1998, Helena joined the Virgin Group as Group Legal Director, where she oversaw M&A deals and new business set up across various industries and jurisdictions. Helena was also responsible for managing the Group's legal panel which she implemented in 2001.
In 2005, Helena joined DLA Piper as a partner, advising TMT sector clients on cross border JVs and strategic alliances. She also had a mandate to strengthen the firm's offering to the General Counsel community, and supported the firm’s Middle East roll-out.
Helena subsequently joined global management consultancy AlixPartners as General Counsel-EMEA in 2008. She was based in Paris, and built up the legal, risk management and compliance function for EMEA.
In 2011, Helena moved to Dubai and was appointed as General Counsel and Company Secretary of OSN, a premium, 24 country distribution TV broadcaster footprint.
Helena returned to the UK in 2015 where she worked as Head of Legal–Media and Programming (EU) for Liberty Global before being appointed as President for Lex Mundi in 2019. Throughout her career Helena has been a highly active member of the in-house legal community around the world.
