Giorgio Rizzello is a qualified lawyer with over 13 years of experience in highly regulated sectors such as medical devices, chemicals, cosmetics, food and nanotechnologies.
In 2013, Giorgio joined the EMEA Law Department of Johnson & Johnson, where he advises the company’s senior leadership on a range of regulatory, policy and compliance matters, focusing on value-based healthcare solutions, digital asset management and sustainability.
Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Giorgio practiced law for 6 years in international law firms, gaining experience in complex litigations before the EU Court of Justice, and representing clients in interactions with regulatory authorities at EU and national level.
Giorgio is also the co-founder of Chemycal, a pioneering web-based tool that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to monitor chemical regulatory systems around the world and anticipate regulatory changes.
Before qualifying as a lawyer, Giorgio trained in the legal department of the European Commission, European Ombudsman and Italian Permanent Representation to the EU.
Giorgio studied law in Italy, France and the UK.
