Prior to Uber, Matt grew up in the UK and holds a BA in Economics and Politics from Durham University. Matt started his career with 4 years at Baker & McKenzie. Following that was a total six year stint working for global telco Telefonica with an enjoyable spell at Arsenal Football Club in the middle (he is a huge Arsenal fan). The chance to join Uber was too good to pass up and Matt arrived in July 2015, initially leading the legal team for Northern and Eastern Europe. Matt now leads Uber’s legal team in APAC & EMEA, so it is a good job that he loves travel. The 90-strong team are a diverse bunch and have a 50/50 gender split, contain 30 different nationalities, are based in over 20 locations and advise across 50 countries. Despite that, Matt is still married and splits his spare time between being a human climbing frame and Lego expert for his three young daughters and still trying to hobble around football pitches in the Amsterdam area.
